Bird abatement goes beyond nest removal. When birds have established a persistent colony — returning season after season — abatement means removing the current nests and installing exclusion barriers so the colony can’t re-establish.
Nest removal only:
One-time nesting in an unusual spot (e.g., a single nest in a vent or gutter). Remove, clean, done.
Full abatement:
Birds have nested in the same location for multiple seasons. Removal alone won’t stop them — you need exclusion barriers.
Woodpecker & Bird Damage Repair
Woodpeckers drill into fascia boards, siding, and eaves — creating entry points for water, insects, and other birds. Bird Proof can remove nesting material from the damage site and install exclusion barriers to prevent further drilling.

In most cases, yes. Pigeons, starlings, and house sparrows are not protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Some native species are protected when actively nesting with eggs or chicks — we assess species on-site and follow all applicable regulations.
